Buckcherry's new video for their latest single is rated X! The video for Too Drunk features alt-rock porn queen Joanna Angel and their new album Black Butterfly hits stores September 16th.

Radiohead covered Neil Young earlier this week... Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood tried to perform 'Tell Me Why' before but Thom forgot the words... He mastered it when they played the Hollywood Bowl and you can check it out on my page at dc101.com.

Fall Out Boy has a release date for their upcoming fifth album...You'll be able to pick up Folie a Deux on November 4th

and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme will produce the new Arctic Monkeys album... The Arctic Monkeys are huge Queens fans and Josh says that he thinks they just want to experience something that's opposite to what they're used to and make some music for the sake of making music.

The Killers have joined the ranks of Radiohead and Jack Johnson in their concern over the environmental impact of their tours. Bassist Mark Stroemer said, "It is something we're going to think about in the future." The Killers are scheduled to release their next album, "Day and Age" in November.

Another big name has set a release date for a new album this fall. Along with Metallica, Oasis, U2, and the aforementioned Killers, Chris Cornell will release his 3rd solo CD entitled Scream October, 14th.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has revealed that sewing is a big reason his band has remained so close. "Making clothes together in our studio makes us feel complete. We probably sound like a group of grannies in a knitting circle, but it's the truth, and it gives us some control over our visual identity," says Martin. You can see Coldplay and their home sewn threads Oct 31st at the Verizon Center.

More Metallica news. The band has released a 2nd track from Death Magnetic for streaming on their website. The track is entitled "My Apocalypse," and comes close to fulfilling the promise of "old school" Metallica sound of the album. Metallica has also hinted that even more tracks might be released before the album's Sept 12th release date.

Record producer Jerry Finn died on Thursday after being taken off life support following a severe brain hemorrhage in July that left him in a coma. He was 39. During his 15-year career, Finn worked with some of the biggest acts in music including, Green Day, Blink-182, Rancid, Offspring, Alkaline Trio, and AFI.

In a near death happening, Barenaked Lady singer Ed Robertson was involved in a pontoon plane crash outside Bancroft, Ontario. Robertson, who was piloting the craft, survived along with his three passengers.

Metallica previewed "The Day That Never Comes" and "Cyanide," 2 songs from their upcoming album Death Magnetic as they headlined the Reading Festival in the UK over the weekend. Metallica have also released the official track listing for the album and it includes "The Unforgiven III". It appears presale tickets for their upcoming arena tour will be available Sept 2nd.

Fall Out Boy have released 6 demos that will appear on their upcoming album Foile a Deux. The demos were released on a mix tape entitled Welcome to the New Administration. This politically themed mixtape coincides with the release date of the full album, November 4th, which also happens to be election day.

Coldplay just released Viva La Vida in June but they may have another album up their sleeve... their producer says they might rush the next album and you could hear it as soon as the beginning of 09.

Bare Naked Ladies frontman Steven Page will have to wait a little longer for his day in court... He got busted and admitted to doin' coke with his girlfriend last month... His court date is now October 14th and he faces 5 years in prison.

Nine Inch Nails have added more concert dates this fall and they will be coming back to the area... You can catch them at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville on November 5th.

Sammy Hager is slamming Van Halen's recent reunion and their decision to replace bass player Michael Anthony with Eddie Van Halen's son, Wolfgang... Sammy says they should have kept Mike just one more time but instead they just keep making more and more mistakes.

Jack White says he has been wanting to collaborate with Alicia Keys for a couple of years so having to do the James Bond duet with her was right on time. Jack says they joined their voices and screamed and moaned about these characters in the film and their isolation, having no one to trust, not even themselves. 'Quantum Of Solace', will hit theaters in November.

and Coldplay leaked a brand new sing... the song is called "Death Will Never Conquer" and is allegedly a b-side that didn't make the final cut on the record. You can check it out on my page at dc101.com

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor says the band isn't responsible for a kid who killed a fellow student in South Africa. Cops found three more swords and four other masks in his school bag that looked like the other members of the band after he stabbed 3 people. Corey says that he is disturbed that someone died, but he knows their message is very positive and at the end of the day, there are always going to be mental disorders and people who cause violence for no other reason than the fact that they're f*d up and lost.

and Paramore and Pink will officially be at this year"s MTV Video Music Awards. Paramore, has been nominated for Best Rock Video and will perform "Misery Business" while Pink will perform her new song "So What" ...the 2008 VMAs will happen on September 7th.

Noel Gallagher says that they named the new Oasis album Dig Out Your Soul because he ran out of ideas.... but he says the title refers to djing when you're putting on some Motown... You'll be able to pick up Dig Out Your Soul October 7th. Meanwhile Noel says that the spat between Jay Z and him was blown way out of proportion and he has nothing but respect for the rapper.

Velvet Revolver had to pay out on a song called "Dirty Little Thing" that was featured on their debut album Contraband... Apparently the melody and core guitar riff were taken from a guy that plays in a UK rock band called Voodoo Six... Velvet Revolver had to sign over 20% of all royalties on the record since its release.

Any hopes for a Jane's Addiction reunion are diminishing fast... Perry now says there's as much likelihood of that happening as there being commercial space flights... Perry also described their one off reunion gig earlier this year as being fun and horrible. It's like having a girlfriend that you have always been in love with and you"ll always be in love with but you don"t quite get along with.

A big record biz guru has penned his memoirs and is dishin' some dirt on 90s rockstars in his book, Bumping into Geniuses... Danny Goldberg says Kurt Cobain had no time for Axl Rose... in fact, Axl asked to meet Kurt after a show and Kurt shot him down... Danny says Axl had the kind of macho rock persona that Kurt despised.

Papa Roach is almost done with their new album, "Metamorphosis"... Frontman Jacoby Shaddix says the title is perfect for his life because its always changing... for better or for worse...Jacoby also says that the new album is some of the most powerful music they've written... You'll see them at Merriweather October 4th with Staind and Seether... tickets go on sale this Saturday thru Ticketmaster.

and Neil Young has chosen Wilco and Death Cab for Cutie to support him when he hits the road in October. The closest date to DC will be December 12th at the Wachovia Spectrum in Philly.

Linkin Park decided to have a little fun while on tour for Projekt Revolution in Wisconsin when they put on wigs and covered 'Sweet Child O' Mine' unfortunately the GnR fans couldn't see the humor... check out the video on my page at dc101.com.

Jared Leto, frontman for 30 Seconds to Mars has made a statement after Virgin Records sued the band for $30 million dollars for not fulfilling their contract... Jared says the lawsuit is crazy and their contract is now null and void... so he hopes to resolve the matter quickly.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is workin' on their next album... they hope to have it done by next year... meanwhile their song "Face Down" has sold more than 1.5 million downloads

System of a Down members Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan are taking their side project, "Scars on Broadway" on the road in support of their self-titled debut which hit last month...You can catch them at Ramshead Live on October 23rd.

And Machine Head, one of the bands at Nissan over the weekend for The Rockstar Mayhem Tour had their guitarist collapse on stage...why? "dehydration" naturally. The band wants to thank everyone for being so understanding and they will perform at Mayhem's last stop in New York.

Serj Tankian is working on movie soundtracks and another solo album... he says he has 500 songs that are unreleased and he is composing for a bunch of movies including Body of Lies... as far as a future for System of a down, Serj says its up in the air and you shouldn't have to wait until people aren't buying your records or your tickets for you to stop.

Oasis has a limited edition box set edition for their upcoming album, Dig Out Your Soul. It will include four vinyl records, two CDs, a DVD and a hardback book but you're only going to be able to buy it through their website. Dig Out Your Soul will hit stores October 7.

Wes Borland who is best known for being the guitarist for Limp Bizkit, has now joined forces with Marilyn Manson. Manson introduced Wes by saying that Wes used to be in a really terrible band that he left because he felt that it was a destructive force in art... You can expect a new Manson album out next year.

Buckcherry Guitarist Keith Nelson says that he originally wanted to be a drummer but had to move to guitar because it was really hard to write songs on the drums... Buckcherry's new album Black Butterfly will hit September 16th and they will hit the road for a tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Shinedown.

Last year's brawl with Tommy Lee and Kid Rock isn't turning MTV off from having Kid back... He'll perform at the VMAs which will take place in LA on September 7th.

My Chemical Romance fans will have to wait awhile for new music... The guys are takin' a break and all doin' their own thing... Gerard Way has been working on his comic book series The Umbrella Academy, while his brother Mikey Way is doing his own comic book as well. Meanwhile, Guitarist Frank Iero is starting a new band called Leathermouth...

Rage Against The Machine isn't just pickin' on Republicans... They're also planning on playing a free show August 27th at the Democratic National Convention in Denver... The show is part of the Tent State Music Festival to End the War and will also feature The Flobots...

And DC's very own Thievery Corporation has a new album out next month... Thievery says the project is a "more overt political statement," and you can pick up Radio Retaliation on September 23rd.

Rage frontman Zack de la Rocha and drummer Jon Theodore say their new project One Day as a Lion is not a one time shot... Zack says they are in the process of forming a band and fans can definitely expect some live shows in the near future... as for Rage? He says they are getting along better than ever and the will keep playing shows but he's not so sure about new music.

and The Cult is coming to town... You can check them out at the 9:30 Club on September 9th.

Rumors were swirling that Radiohead would score the new movie Choke, written by the same dude who wrote Fight Club but apparently that is not true... They did offer the song, "Reckoner" from In Rainbows to the flick which is supposed to hit screens in September.

and the next episode of Fuse's Live Through This series will focus on Guns N' Roses/Velvet Revolver member Duff McKagan. Duff will share his battle with drinking and a near death experience and you can check it out on Saturday, August 23.

Blink 182 bass player Mark Hoppus, lost millions on a bogus company called Missicom... Mark says that Missicom was supposed to install self service cashier terminals in McDonald's but there were no terminals and now he's out $2 million bucks.

The Killers say their new album Day and Age is their most poppy record but also their most experimental... You can pick up Day and Age in November.

Rumors are flying around that Lenny Kravitz could be the new Velvet Revolver frontman. He was recently spotted in the studio with the band and insiders are saying the band wanted a big name who could hold his own.

Amy Winehouse says her song for the new James Bond flick was turned down because they wanted something clean cut and boring... She says if execs want a worldwide hit, she's got them all up in her head and she plans on releasing her song on the same day because she says it will be bigger than the Jack White Alicia Keys "Another Way to Die" duet.

Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro will keep his Carmen Electra ink... he says he still has a bond with her and he won't be covering them up or changing them.

Not bad when Bono compares you to Van Gogh... Bono thinks U2 guitarist The Edge is a genius just like the famous artist and says surely The Edge is the most influential guitarist since Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, and Neil Young.

Courtney Love says she will leave the music biz once she finishes her new album... She says sexism is to blame for her getting "crucified every day"... She also says that if her daughter Frances Bean wants to give music a try it will be over her dead body but she thinks Frances will end up running Hollywood instead which Courtney says is awesome because she has her "S list".

and word has it that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will do the Superbowl half-time show... The Superbowl will take place in Tampa on February 1st.

After playing Virgin Fest over the weekend, Paramore is working on new material... Guitarist Josh Farro says they have anywhere from 7 to 10 songs and although they aren't done, they're really good ideas... They hope to start working on it this fall and have it out by next summer...

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan is working with a new band called Jubilee that features former members of Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age... check out my page for footage of Maynard singing "I Don't Have an Excuse, I Just Need a Little Help,"

Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda has teamed up with WeMix.com for a songwriting contest that will give the winner a chance to record with Shinoda. Linkin Park has also announced a pair of Music For Relief gigs in China to help out people dealing with the recent earthquake.

and Coheed and Cambria is working on their new albums... it a prequel to the sci-fi saga their first four albums explored. Singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez says its a lot of fun and they hope to have it finished up in the next year or so.

Bon Jovi stole some dude's song... A musician in Boston says Bon Jovi's song "I Love This Town," which was used as an MLB anthem is actually his song "Man I Really Love This Team"... Bart Steele says that he got raped... his baseball anthem became the baseball promo song for the world...except he got cut out of the deal.

Ozzy Osbourne will quit after 2 more albums.... Ozzy says it's so easy to make records now and the art of making records is somewhat diminishing.... But he will try to give it as much real him as he can."

Velvet Revolver's Duff McKagen and Pearl Jam's Mike McCready will rock out with their side projects for the seventh annual Seattle Tattoo Expo which starts today. Duff fits right in with 13 tattoos but he's man enough to admit they hurt...Duff says he loves the result but the process sucks.

Weezer announced their fall tour in support of their self-titled Red album...as for a DC date? There isn't one. The closest date is Philly on Sept 27th. Angels and Airwaves as well as Tokyo Police Club will open.

Iggy Pop & The Stooges had their gear stolen after a show in Montreal... The truck holding the equipment was stolen from outside the hotel where they were staying and it is said to be worth tens of thousands of dollars...But the show must go on so they will continue to play with rented and donated equipment.

Rage Against The Machine will play Minneapolis while The Republican National Convention is going on. Rage will be at The Target Center on September 3rd while the convention is going on not too far from there September 1 to 4. Guitarist Tom Morello also will hook up with singer/songwriter and activist Steve Earle while they are there to do a show at a union rally on September 1 in St. Paul.

Dave Grohl and Billy Gibbons, who have both collaborated before with Queens of the Stone Age, will now hook up again in October when ZZ Top and Foo Fighters co-headline Love Ride 25...Love Ride 25 is a motorcycle charity event that takes place October 26th out in Cali. The ride has raised over $20 million for a bunch of charities throughout the years.

You'll get new Metallica a little sooner than we thought...The release date was said to be September 16th but now Metallica says it will be Friday, September 12th. The band has also shot a short film for "The Day that Never Comes" which is said to have a war theme but James Hetfield says they aren't making any political statements with it and the song isn't even really about that..

and AFI frontman, Davey Havok, has launched a new fashion line featuring limited edition t-shirts.. Davey says whether it was Frankie"s insistence to RELAX or the now tame, yet then surely demonic, imaging of the Bones Brigade, tees have always excited him. Davey's Zu Boutique will only print 100 of each t-shirt design, with each shirt hand numbered zero to 99 meanwhile, Zu Boutique sold out of their first design in their first day

There's a new music documentary making the film festival rounds on the history of guitar featuring Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, U2's The Edge and Jack White. The movie is called "It Might Get Loud"...it's directed by the same guy who did Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" and it's meant to show guitar playing from the 1970's to today.

And Wolfmother may be done...apparently there has been alot of tension between frontman Andrew Stockdale and the 2 other guys in the band....their manager says he won't comment but they should be issuing a statement in the next week.

The Black Crowes are suing country artist Gretchen Wilson, Turner Network Television and Gretchen's record label for stealin' their song... The Crowes say Gretchen Wilson's song "Work Hard, Play Harder" sounds way to much like their song "Jealous Again" ..and since TNT used it to promote the show "Saving Grace", they are to blame too. You'll see the Black Crowes at Wolftrap on Sunday night.

and Ted Nugent will appear on "Criss Angel Mindfreak" on A&E August 25th....Criss will try to catch an arrow being shot from Ted's crossbow....

Oasis' has signed a deal with Warner Bros. and the first new release under the deal will be their upcoming album, "Dig Out Your Soul," ...the album was recorded at Abbey Road and you'll be able to pick it up October 7th.

And Liam Gallagher's favorite Glastonbury headliner Jay Z is working on his next album...but is Timbaland producing it? Jay Z says Timbaland is like a brother to him but he works off of the music so if Tim makes 10 great tracks then he produces the album if Kanye West makes 10 then he does... Jay Z lets the music dictate.

Jack White and Alicia Keys get to do Bond! Rumors have been going around that Amy Winehouse or Duffy would do the theme song for the new Bond movie "Quantum of Solace," but producers confirmed that the R&B singer and White Stripes frontman have teamed up for "Another Way to Die," ...Its the first Bond duet and you can check out the new movie in November.

Panic At The Disco and Dashboard Confessional will be your headliners for the first Rock Band tour...The tour will start in October and it will give you the chance to play the video game on stage! Plain White Ts are also on the bill and All the acts on the trek will be spotlighted in a downloadable content bundle for "Rock Band 2" in the fall.

The Killers are finishing up their third album...They are recoding at their new studio in Vegas and they are hoping for a November release.

Bummer for The Butthole Surfers...Their triumphant return to New York ended in drama after frontman Gibby Hayes got in a fight with the club's sound guy. Apparently Gbby kept motioning to the guy during the set to turn up his monitor mix and after going off on the guy...the problem persisted so Gibby clocked him on the head with a beer bottle and the cops took him away.

If you didn't make it to either of the Foo Fighters shows when they played Wembley Stadium you're gonna get them on DVD soon! 'Foo Fighters: Live At Wembley Stadium' will be released on August 23 with 18-song s taken from both shows... it also includes the second night's collaboration between Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones with The Foo on the Zeppelin classics 'Rock and Roll' and 'Ramble On'.

Our Lady Peace fans! Frontman Raine Maida will release his solo debut next month! You'll be able to pick up The Hunter's Lullaby on August 26th.

You'll get new Hinder this November! The follow up to their triple platinum breakthrough album Extreme Behavior is called Take it to the Limit and you'll be able to pick it up November 4th.

Bob Dylan will release a multi-disc album consisting of late-era outtakes, previously unreleased recordings and live tracks... "Tell Tale Signs," is the eighth installment in Dylan's "Bootleg Series," and you'll be able to pick it up on in October... Meanwhile you can catch him at Virgin Fest on Sunday August 10th.

Tommy Lee says he's off the red meat train thanks to Pam Anderson... He says he just wanted to try it and he's been doin' the pseudo vegetarian thing (since he still eats fish) for the past couple of months and he says he definitely feels lighter.

Meanwhile, Tommy says he wants Johnny Depp to play him in a movie... They're still trying to get the Motley Crue story made and that would be his pick because Johnny Depp in Tommy's words is the best ever.

Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd says their new song "Too Drunk" off of their new album Black Butterfly is about how he rolled starting out as a musician... he says it was all about house parties and it was no coincidence that he and his buddies would throw on the tag "Too Drunk to F*ck" because sometimes that was the case.

and The Rolling Stones have left their record label of 20 years. The Stones have ditched EMI for Universal Music Group. The new deal with the Stones covers a portion of their back catalog and any future releases. Meanwhile, the band says Universal are forward thinking, creative and hands-on music people and they are looking fwd to working with them.

Ex Smashing Pumpkins members James Iha and D'Arcy sued Virgin Records for not paying them for downloads and other digital Pumpkins music after signing a deal with Billy Corgan....Meanwhile, Billy said earlier this year that he has "zero" contact with either of them

R&B Star Ne Yo wants to record a song with Marilyn Manson... NeYo says he wants to rock!! So he's tryin' to track Manson down.

My Chemical Romance plan to record a Bob Dylan cover for the new Watchmen movie...Watchmen Director Zack Snyder says MCR is awesome and Gerard is a huge fan of the book.

and Fleetwood Mac is getting together for a new album and tour....Lindsey Buckingham says they'll get into the studio after the reunion shows because he thinks they will make a better album if they hung together first on the road.

Avenged Sevenfold fans, you'll get a DVD/CD package, Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough on Sept 9th. The DVD features a show during the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour, while the CD has unreleased b-sides, cover songs and other never-before-heard stuff.

Dr. Dre is just about done with his third studio album, Detox whiich should be out before the end of the year. Listen for collaborations on Detox with Nas, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne. Meanwhile, Dr. Dre will tour and promote the album but then he says he wants to be a hermit in the studio to produce up-and-coming artists.

Kid Rock was sentenced to a year of probation and a $1,000 fine for that fight outside of an Atlanta Waffle House last year. The sentence also included 80 hours of community service and six hours of anger management counseling. Apparently Kid's lawyer said he wasn't too happy with the sentence.

And The Cure's long-delayed 13th studio album was pushed back again to October 13th...Frontman Robert Smith says he needs more time to put the finishing touches on the album.

Oasis says England's soccer team is to blame for the delay on their new album... Noel Galllagher says "they decided to keep June July and August free to support England in the European Championship, and of course look what f***ing happened."

Courtney Love's business managers are suing her after she allegedly didn't pay them after selling a portion of the Nirvana song catalog. the firm claims they are entitled to $975,000 as the rights were sold for $19.5 million in back in '06

Sting, Garbage, Dave Matthews and John Mayer are just a few artists on a new CD supporting Tibet's struggle for national sovereignty... 'Songs For Tibet' will hit iTunes on August 5, just before the 08 Summer Olympics kick off in China. The CD will hit on August 12, with proceeds benefiting the Art of Peace Foundation, which supports Tibet's exiled spiritual leader Dalai Lama.

Guns and Roses/Velvet Revolver star Slash did a unlikely collaboration recently with pop star Fergie... When she introduced him she said "Some of you little ones may know him from Guitar Hero, but I know him from a band called Velvet Revolver and a band called Guns N' f***ing Roses!" Slash and Fergie performed a bunch of songs including Sweet Child O' Mine.

All American Rejects are working on their next album...The band recently performed a new song while opening for Bon Jovi and the album should be out sometime in November.

and speaking of Bon Jovi, they have a new live DVD that will hit at the end of the year...The DVD is footage of the last 2 nights at Madison Square Garden and it is said to be amazing.

Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke was attacked by Sex Pistols singer John Lydon and some of his buddies after simply asking John whether or not he would reform one of his favorite bands Public Image Ltd. John was somehow offended by the question told Kele his problem was his black attitude before beating the crap out of him then beat him...Kele says he was disappointed that someone he held with such high regard turned out to be such a bigot. You'll see Bloc Party at Virgin Fest on Saturday August 9th.

AC/DC will release their new single called "Run Away From Black Ice" on Aug. 24 and you'll be able to pick up their new album "Dirty Rhythm" in late October however it will be sold only at Walmart. Meanwhile their tour will kick off in New York City on January 1st.

Don't expect a lot of merch at the Coldplay show on August 3rd....Chris Martin says some of it was terrible so they yanked it. He says they put so much work into their music and the same quality control should go for the stuff being sold at their shows, It has to be a no crap zone.

Guitar Hero fans! Hendrix is yours! Experience Hendrix the company that owns his legacy has given the greenlight to use his music and image for "Guitar Hero World Tour" which will hit in late October. Meanwhile, "World Tour" will be the first "Guitar Hero" to feature drums and a microphone.

Metallica is in the midst of some unexpected pornographic controversy....Apparently some people are questioning whether or not Metallica's artwork for their new album Death Magnetic is an allusion to female genitalia.

and Rage guitarist Tom Morello will perform at a Union Festival over Labor Day in St. Paul, Minnesota, where the 08 Republican National Convention will also be starting the same day. Tom will be there with Steve Earle and former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, along with other activists. Meanwhile, Tom has not endorsed a presidential candidate he says any real, progressive, substantive, radical or revolutionary change for the better that's ever happened in our country has happened because people whose names are not on the ballot, whose names you do not read about in history books, gather together, organize and struggle to make their lives, their community and their country better.

A Janes Addiction reunion is a real possibility! Perry Farrell says he's open to it now and says they're not making war, they're making music so how bad could it be? they have a meeting planned sometime soon but Perry isn't promising anything.

MTV has launched sountrack.mtv.com...its an interactive music guide that not only shows you the music played on every MTV show and channel in realtime, but it is also an outlet for artists to create their own profile pages.....Be afraid MySpace...These profiles are open to all artists even those that are unsigned and they can choose to have their entire album available for full-song streaming, so long as they upload their music to the site.

Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page is going to fight the charges after being busted for coke. ..The band addressed the charges on their website and wrote that Steven has plead not guilty and the validity of the charges against Steven will be strongly contested...Meanwhile, they say BNL will continue to perform and they are getting ready to record a new album.

Queens of the Stone Age will play a benefit concert next month for ex touring member Natasha Shneider who recently died after a long battle with cancer. The line up includes PJ Harvey, Tenacious D, Pearl Jam's Matt Cameron, The Distillers' frontchick Brody Dalle and proceeds from the event will go to pay Natasha's pending medical bills. Meanwhile, Queens frontman Josh Homme will do a guest appearance on Primal Scream's next album.

Rage frontman Zach de la Rocha has posted the first song from his side project One Day As A Lion. They got their name from the quote "It"s better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb," ...The new track is "wild international" and it is awesome. You can find it on their myspace page and you can pick up their self-titled debut album on July 22nd.

The Rolling Stones" Ronnie Wood is back in rehab for booze. Ronnie's struggle with drinking and drugs is no secret... one time, it got so bad that Keith Richards of all people had to threaten Ronnie to get sober with a gun.

Radiohead just released a new video for "House of Cards" from "In Rainbows"....they didn't use cameras or lights for the video...instead, they used 2 technologies to capture 3d images...The technologies also allow you to maneuver Thom Yorkes image...You check it out on the front page of dc101.com.

There's no love between Def Leppard and Poison. and John Mellencamp announced yesterday that Farm Aid will happen September 20th at the Comcast Center in Boston and he along with Willie Nelson Neil Young and Dave Matthews will headline. Farm Aid, which held its first concert in 1985 and has raised more than $30 million, supports family farms.

Beck will tour with MGMT this fall although no east coast dates have been announced just yet MGMT has a sold out show at the 930 July 28th

and Police fans! you'll be able to pick up a live CD and DVD from their reunion tour later this year.... The DVD will also include a documentary about the tour called "Better Than Therapy" which is directed by drummer Stewart Copeland's son, who he admits is a much better filmmaker than him.

Dave Grohl is super sick and has had to reschedule Foo Fighter shows at Red Rocks this week...Dave says as much as it kills them to postpone shows, he's in no shape to deliver the kind of balls-out performances that the fans deserve...You will see The Foo at this year's Virgin Fest on August 9th.

And some dude in Canada is running around posing as David Lee Roth...The police say the Diamond Dave imposter has scammed a lot of people and he could be charged with obstruction of justice for giving a false name to cops.

Rage Against The Machine called President Bush a "war criminal" at a recent show in Scotland and want him to be tried over the war in Iraq. Frontman Zack de la Rocha told fans to "wake up" and that it was up to this generation to beat the system which perpetuates war.

and The Who was honored by the Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam on Saturday at the third VH1 Rock Honors ceremony. The Flaming Lips , Incubus and Tenacious D were also there to give props to the rock gods...Jack Black asked the crowd "you wanna know why they were the greatest? You could soon be buying your digital music from Activision Blizzard, the creators of Guitar Hero. The software company is set to open an iTunes-like digital music store. After selling over 20 million copies Bobby Kotick, chief executive of Activision Blizzard states that the natural evolution of the franchise would be to create an online music platform.

A warning to fans of the Chili Peppers: don't adorn your clothing with their star logo. The merchandising company Bravada International, that owns the rights to the logos of the Peppers, Guns n' Roses and Led Zeppelin (among others) is suing clothing maker Back-Lite, claiming Back-Lite caused irreparable harm to the band by including a patch of the Chili's logo to a jacket a fan requested by custom made so she could wear it to a Chili Pepper's show. The amount sought in damages is hard to pin down, as Bravada says it is only seeking $3500, while Black-Lite claims it is being sued for $11 million.

If you plan on attending the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, August 17th at Nissan Pavilion, make sure you get there early. The tour kicked off last week to great reviews for all main stage bands. Keep on the look out as well during Slipknot's set for a Motley-Crue-esque elevating and rotating drum kit.

Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz believes that he is the target of the LAPD because he drives an SUV with blacked out windows. The bassist and his assistant were pulled over by cops in the city on Wednesday (July 9) when the vehicle stopped at traffic lights. After searching Wentz, police found that his license had expired, but police did not charge him as his assistant was driving at the time. He said afterwords: "I think I get profiled... because I drive a car that has black windows on it and it must look like I'm just doing bad things. I thought Ashley Simpson was a bad thing.

Along with the $24 and $124 versions of their new album Death Magnetic, Metallica confirmed the existence of a special-edition that will come in the shape of a coffin. It will contain the actual album, an additional disc full of demos, a making-of DVD, an exclusive T-shirt, guitar picks, a flag and a fold-out poster. Plus, the box will come with a collectors credit card embossed with a code you can use to download a special European show happening in September. While no official price has been announced for the coffin box, rumor has it priced at $1500.

More details have been announced for the Smashing Pumpkins upcoming 20th anniversary tour. In August the band will take to smaller venues to play unique sets and songs. In November, the tour will shift to much-larger venues in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, as well as a few more unannounced cities. Frontman Billy Corgan says, The August tour is going to be a blast… Expect a very loud and raucous show from us. The 20th Anniversary shows will be magical… We are already working on lots of surprises. So far, only one date has been announced August 9 at Hammond, Indiana's Horseshoe Casino with the remaining dates and venues expected to be announced shortly.

Dust off that record player you have in your attic. Record label Capitol/EMI has announced vinyl reissues for both Radiohead and Coldplay as part of a new series titled "From the Capitol Vaults." The newly remastered reissues will feature original artwork from OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Thief with Pablo Honey and The Bends soon to follow. Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head will also get the vinyl treatment. The first series of reissues will be made available August 19.

New York City thought it was doing a good thing for its citizens by throwing a free Bon Jovi concert this Saturday in Central Park in conjunction with the MLB All-Star game. Tickets have been showing up on E-bay for upwards of $1,500. This despite the fact that concert organizers will not admit anyone who has purchased black market tickets.

Also in conjunction with the All Star game, 3 Doors Down will play inside Yankee Stadium as part of the Home Run Derby Festivities. Starting Monday night at 8, 3DD will play Kryptonite and It's Not My Time for the sold out crowd

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has come to the defense of those who need defending: celebrities who choose to give their children unusual names. He has said, "People make a big fuss over names. There's nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca. It's no stranger than Sarah. A name is just a noise, and, if you like it, then f*** what everyone else says."

Evidently, if you find some lost property of Eddie Veddar, you will be handsomely rewarded. A NYC man found Eddie Veddar's girlfriend's cell phone and Eddie thanked that man for returning it by giving him $500, an engraved Zippo lighter, and a thank you letter.

Pumpkins will tour in August ...Billy Corgan says their August tour is going to be a blast and you can expect a very loud show...They will also do a Gish Tour celebrating 20 years and their debut album at the end of the year and into '09. Billy says those shows will be magical and they are already working on a lot of surprises.

Ben Folds' first new studio album in over three years will hit September 16th. Ben describes Way to Normal as a fairly lyric-driven rock record and it features a duet with Regina Spektor.

311 is busy at work on their next album...311 drummer Chad Sexton says they are going back to basics on the new album and they want to make sure they tour every summer regardless of the record because they love playing live...Make sure you listen at 3:11 with Roche this week to score passes to their show at Nissan on the 20th.

System of a Down won't reunite just yet...The band promises they will be back but they are all too busy working on side projects and say that it will be a few years before they can plan a comeback.

Buckcherry has named their new album Black Butterfly. You'll be able to pick up Black Butterfly on September 23rd meanwhile, they have leaked one of the tracks called "Too Drunk"...You can listen to it on my page at dc101.com.

and Guitar Hero hasn't been able to grab Metallica or The Beatles just yet...Rumors have been going around that Metallica will be the next band featured in their own version of "Guitar Hero," just like the Aerosmith-centric game that just hit...The guys behind the game say that they can't comment about Metallica just yet, but they would love to work with all of the top rock bands of all time, whether it's Aerosmith, Metallica, AC/DC or Zeppelin.

FOB guitarist Pete Wentz is sticking up for his buddy and Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy....Travis went off on a guy at a recent show and smacked him on the head with a mic after the guy called him the N word...Travis' was arrested after the show on a third degree assault charge...Pete took to his mighty blog calling the guy "pathetic" and wrote that "he is the one they write songs about when they think about hate".

and Palestinian campaigners want Snoop Dogg to boycott Israel. the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) has released a statement saying: "How can an artist whose name is prominently associated with this form of popular and freedom-based musical expression, be apathetic to the monstrosity of Israel's current war crimes in Gaza.... "By performing in Ramat Gan you are helping to perpetuate this special form of apartheid that denies us our rights. We sincerely hope that you shall cancel your announced performance in Israel." After taking a lot of heat for his Glastonbury appearance from Oasis big mouth Noel Gallagher, Jay Z now says he wants to collaborate with Noel. Jay Z isn't holding a grudge and says that Glastonbury was a historic event for him...he says anytime you can come from where he comes from and be embraced by a crowd overseas it is simply amazing. I highly recommend watching his opening montage at Glastonbury as well as his performance on YouTube.

and David Gray is pissed after finding out that U.S.anti-terror investigators used his hit song "Babylon" to torture suspected terrorists. He explains that people are put in darkened rooms, handcuffed with bags over their heads and forced to listen to blaring music. he says "It doesn't matter what the music is - it could be Tchaikovsky's finest or Barney the Dinosaur, it's going to drive you completely nuts.

Pearl Jam raised $3 million for the poverty fighting Robin Hood Foundation at a private show at the Beacon Theater in New York the other night... In addition to their own songs they covered Bob Dylan, Neil Young and ended with their cover of The Who's "Baba O'Riley"..Eddie will get ready for his solo tour which comes to The Warner Theater on August 16th and 17th and Pearl Jam will begin to work on their next studio album.

and The Flaming Lips will offer up a few songs for the sequel to the documentary Okie Noodling... The doc is about a a group of rural Oklahoman fisherman that fish only using their hands... Okie Noodling II will be out on DVD on July 14th. Meanwhile you can catch the lips at the VH1 Who Tribute on July 17th.

STP frontman Scott Weiland will release a solo album on October 7th....Scott says it will definitely be a sonic journey like the first album was but it will be a little bit more focused since he's not on a narcotic journey like he was on the last one...You'll see him with STP on August 10th at Virgin Fest.

The line up of Guitar Hero: World tour is shaping up...but which artists are on it? A consumer survey was leaked and the top artists are Korn, System of a Down, Interpol and Tool...The survey says the game will feature 85 songs...but the lineup has yet to be concerned.

Sevendust will perform for troops in Germany, Kuwait and Afghanistan....guitarist Clint Lowery says "to be able to go over there and experience this will be life-changing for them as a band. He personally doesn't know what he feels about the war but he supports the men and women over there doing their jobs 110%."

Rage Against The Machine frontman Zach de la Rocha has a new project with drummer Jon Theodore and will release One Day As A Lion on July 22. They describe it as "a defiant affirmation of the possibilities that exist in the space between kick and snare. It's a sonic reflection of the visceral tension between a picturesque fabricated cultural landscape, and the brutal socioeconomic realities it attempts to mask." Gotta love Zach..

Ben Moody left Evanescence back in '03 but much to Amy Lee's disappointment has managed to keep his career going by writing and producing for up and coming artists like Daughtry and Kelli Clarkson. Now he's starting his very own record label FNR Records.

Pearl Jam played a 2night stand at Madison Square Garden this week and had some surprise guests on stage...Ace Frehley from Kiss played lead guitar on Black Diamond and Ramones bass player CJ did I believe in miracles...Celebs were in the house too including the Olsen Twins, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.

and the The Chemical Brothers will return to the party island of Ibiza, Spain on August 10th for the first time in fourteen years.... In a joint statement, the pair said they're ecstatic to be asked back

Metallica has picked a release date...we have been hearing for awhile that you'll be able to pick up the new album "Death Magnetic" sometime in September but now we hear that it will be September 16th and the album includes 10 or 11 tracks.
